Katherine Who?

Katherine Crowe, you know, the singer from the Isle of Man, lost her eight year battle with breast cancer on May 8, 2014.  Sad that someone so young passed away....unless you're Mike M who reaps the benefits.  Katherine Crowe, dead at 39.

If My Spanish Was Better.....

I would congratulate Margaret D. for her pick of Gabriel Garcia Marquez who died April 17, 2014 at the age of 87.  His fictional works outsold everything published in Spanish except the Bible, that is impressive my friends!  Gabrial Marquez, dead at 87.

The 8th Time's A Charm

Famed actor, Mickey Rooney passed away at age 93 on April 6, 2014.  Born Joseph Yule, Jr, his career started when he was just 17 months old and lasted right up until he died (no way to know if Gus will make it into Night at the Museum 3, although Rooney did film scenes before his death).  Mr. Rooney never really got the marriage thing quite right, although he did give it the ole' college try eight times!  Mickey Rooney, dead at 93.

Time to Hit the Bar

Shirley Temple Black, bright eyed, curly haired child actress, passed away at age 85 on
February 10, 2014.  She tapped and sang her way into the hearts of folks and then she outgrew her cute and actually recognized it, retiring at 22.  Just goes to show you, cute will only take you so far!  Drown your sorrows at the bar with a sticky sweet beverage named in her honor.  Shirley Temple, dead at 85.

Death Was the Only Thing Pete Seeger Couldn't Overcome

There was the House Un-American Activities Committee and then Bob Dylan left his folk roots behind for rock 'n' roll.  But Pete Seeger just kept on writing, collecting and singing America's songs. He lost his wife Toshi, of nearly 70 years, last July.  Today he joins her in song again; Pete Seeger, dead at 94.  -Janice T.
