Ruh-roh, Raggy!

Casey Kasem, renowned radio personality, announcer and voice of the beloved Shaggy from Scooby Doo passed away on June 15, 2014 as a result of Lewy body disease.  A life well-lived took a sad turn at the end when his wife started flinging raw meat at people and hiding him far from home.  As the countdown rolls on, several friends will join me in celebrating the 18 points he leaves behind.

Ann B. Davis, the lovable Alice from the Brady Brunch, died on June 1, 2014 as the result of a fall at her home.  I'll use my points to wipe my tears; the rest of you can fix a pot roast and think of Alice.  Ann B. Davis, dead at 88.

A Strong Voice Silenced

Popular poet, novelist, singer, dancer, actress, film director, and friend of celebrities and presidents, Maya Angelou, passed away on May 28, 2014.  There doesn't seem to be a single stone unturned in her life.  She knew tremendous pain as a child, became a single, teen mom, worked hard and found tremendous fame and following.  Maya Angelou, dead at 86.

Katherine Crowe, you know, the singer from the Isle of Man, lost her eight year battle with breast cancer on May 8, 2014.  Sad that someone so young passed away....unless you're Mike M who reaps the benefits.  Katherine Crowe, dead at 39.

Margaret D is at 30% Accuracy....

On the back of Theater Director Nicholas Martin, Margaret D. has taken a commanding lead in our fun little game.  Nicky Martin passed away on April 30, 2014 at the age of 75 after suffering from throat cancer.  Mr. Martin had a very distinguished career, even earning a Tony nomination last year.  Nicholas Martin, dead at 75.

If My Spanish Was Better.....

I would congratulate Margaret D. for her pick of Gabriel Garcia Marquez who died April 17, 2014 at the age of 87.  His fictional works outsold everything published in Spanish except the Bible, that is impressive my friends!  Gabrial Marquez, dead at 87.

John Pinette, comedian and actor, died at age 50 on April 5, 2014.  Too many comedic achievements to list, best to check out this bit.  John Pinette, dead at 50.
