Another L for UNC-Chapel Hill

Dean Smith, former men's basketball coach at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, died Saturday, February 7, 2015.  A conspiracy theorist might suggest that Coach Smith developed Alzheimer's just as UNC was being investigated for cheating in their sports department thus rendering him useless in said investigation.  I'll just say it was a sad loss for basketball, he was a good coach.  Dean Smith, dead at 83.

After a competitive year, we have a winner!

2014 Happy Funtime Friends and Family Predictions Winner
The woman with the 50% accuracy rate in her predictions, Margaret D,  is our winner!  You excel where others fail; predicting the deaths of the famous and famous-ish in yearly chunks. Enjoy your well earned victory!  Congratulations to Margaret D!

And the winner of the 4th annual Margaret Walker Humanitarian Award is...

once again, its namesake, Margaret W.  While Margaret W. is no longer with us, her spirit of charity continues on.  And since she has the longest run of not scoring (having never scored in this game....I mean, five years, seriously!!), she wins hands down.  The Peggy Award comes with a cash prize based on the interest earned for the 1st place prize.  This year, the Peggy Award is 38¢.  Congratulations to Margaret W!
It should be known, when asked in late 2011 if she wanted to play the 2012 game, she said of her picks "let them ride".  With that wish, so long as she still has an intact 10 picks, we here at Happy Funtime will continue to grant that wish.  This year, Margaret W's entry fee has been paid so that we can "let them ride" and try to win some money for charity.

"Goooooooood Morning HEAVEN!"

Robin Williams, Oscar winner and comedian, died on Monday, August 11, 2014.  A sad loss of someone who brought a smile to so many (while apparently suffering much sadness himself).  He leaves a legacy of characters no one will forget....Mrs. Doubtfire,  Mork, Patch Adams and Sean Maguire.  In his honor dress in drag or wear a red jumpsuit.  Robin Williams, dead at 63.
