Retirement Planning Be Damned

Morley Safer, Emmy award winning reporter and 60 Minutes correspondent, died
Thursday, May 19, 2016.  A mere eight days ago, after 46 seasons at 60 Minutes, Mr. Safer announced his retirement.  If there's a silver lining to this sad tale, I guess it's that Morley nailed it on having enough money saved to make it through retirement!  Morley Safer, dead at 84.

When I'm Gone

Joey Feek, country music singer and half of the husband/wife duo Joey+Rory, died Friday, March 4, 2016 after battling cervical cancer.  After her cancer returned, the grace with which she prepared her family for her death was amazing.  In her hauntingly beautiful song "When I'm Gone" Joey left husband Rory and young daughter, Indiana, all they need to know to carry on without her.
Just give it time we'll both be fine.  Joey Feek, dead at 40.

2015 Happy Funtime Friends and Family Predictions Winner
Winner, winner....it's me, Megan D!  I thank the three people who sacrificed in order for me to accumulate 139 points.  Thanks to everyone who played!

And the winner of the 5th annual Margaret Walker Humanitarian Award is...

once again, its namesake, Margaret W.  While Margaret W. is no longer with us, her spirit of charity continues on.  And since she has the longest run of not scoring (having never scored in this game....I mean, six years, seriously!!), she wins hands down.  The Peggy Award comes with a cash prize based on the interest earned for the 1st place prize.  This year, the Peggy Award is 38¢.  Congratulations to Margaret W!
It should be known, when asked in late 2011 if she wanted to play the 2012 game, she said of her picks "let them ride".  With that wish, so long as she still has an intact 10 picks, we here at Happy Funtime will continue to grant that wish.  This year, Margaret W's entry fee has been paid so that we can "let them ride" and try to win some money for charity.

2016 Picks will be posted soon!
