2016 Happy Funtime Friends and Family Predictions Winner

In the closest competition to date, we have our 2016 winner......congratulations Janice T!!!  I tip my hat to the lady who beat me by a point.  Nice game.

And the winner of the 6th annual Margaret Walker Humanitarian Award is.....
once again, its namesake Margaret W.  While Margaret W. is no longer with us, her spirit of charity continues.  Since she has the longest run of not scoring (having never scored in this game.....seven years, not one point!), she wins hands down.
It should be known, when asked in late 2011 if she wanted to play the 2012 game, she said of her picks, "let them ride."  As long as she still has an intact 10 picks, we will continue to grant her wish.  This year, Margaret W's entry fee was graciously paid by our 2016 winner, Janice T, so that we can "let them ride" and try to win some money for charity.

2017 picks will be posted soon!

Wham! Last Christmas....

George Michael, pop superstar, died December 25, 2016.  Somebody didn't wake up before he went-went and now we are praying for time to heal our pain and kissing a fool to drown our sorrows.  I knew you were waiting for me to tell you that Jennifer T will heal the pain with the 47 points she earned.  George Michael, dead at 53.

Buh Bye, "Revoluntionary"

Fidel Castro, former Cuban President, died November 25, 2016.  The reactions to his death run the spectrum and I'll leave you to decide how you feel.  Three people who delight, even if it's ever so slightly, are the ladies who captured ten points with the death of good ole' Castro.  Fidel Castro, dead at 90.

Retirement Planning Be Damned

Morley Safer, Emmy award winning reporter and 60 Minutes correspondent, died
Thursday, May 19, 2016.  A mere eight days ago, after 46 seasons at 60 Minutes, Mr. Safer announced his retirement.  If there's a silver lining to this sad tale, I guess it's that Morley nailed it on having enough money saved to make it through retirement!  Morley Safer, dead at 84.
