Peter Falk, cigar smoking detective and book reading grandfather to Fred Savage, has died. Falk was a fascinating man. Did you know he was an accomplished artist? Worked in oils and sketches. Did you know the man who played a detective had a private detective daughter in real life? Catherine Falk. Did you know Falk had a glass eye? Yep, during a little league game he was called out at third base. Falk proceeded to pull out his glass eye, hand it to the umpire, and say "Try this".
